Irena Kavkalevska

Irena Kavkalevska, mezzo. Soloist of the MOB Opera since 2003. Completed musical elementary and high school education in Skopje `Ilija Nikolovski – Luj` Musical school with Prof. Biljana Jakimovska. Graduated the Skopje Faculty of Music Arts with Prof. Blagoja Nikolovski being one of the top six students of her class at the `Ss. Cyril and Methodius` University. Specializes first with Prof. Irena Brmbarova at the Sofia, Bulgaria, Vocal Conservatorium `Pancho Vladigerov`, than at Musik Hochschulle in Graz, Austria, and finally at the Zagreb, Croatia, Music Academy with Prof. Dunja Vejzovic where she got her masters degree.

She started as a student to perform at numerous concerts and festivals such as the Skopje Summer, The May Opera Evenings, The Young Operatic Talents, The Days of Macedonian Music, Youth Festival in Bayreuth, Germany, The Zagreb Summer. Irena Kovalakovska had performed on operatic and concert stages in Croatia, Slovenia, Spain, Italy, Serbia, Bulgaria, and Macedonia. Ms. Kovalakovska attended large number of seminars with Professors Terry Ellen Rhodes, George Surian, Konrad Richter, Sintija Hansel Bakic, etc. Irena Kavkalevska debuted on the MOB Opera stage as Maddalena in Verdi`s Rigoletto in 1996.
