The Bey Hamam in Tetovo originates from the 15th century and it is an important monument from its time.
In the recent history it loses the original function of a bath – hamam, and at the time it is used as a pizza restaurant. The goal of the project is to be used the possibilities of the hamam and the architectonic values of the building heritage in the Ottoman period that would be most adequately expressed through a used space – gallery.
The Turkish Hamam in Tetovo has been transformed into a spiritual treasury of the plastic art. The national preservative centre for two years had been working at the project for adaptation of the space in the multimedia centre that is suitable for exhibitions, poet reading, promotions and other smaller manifestations. The new Art Gallery has around 350 square meters showground with floor heating, marble floor and additionally lighting in the inside.
