Tue, 08/03/2010 - 23:17
The dense pine and beech forest at the Maleshevo Mountains from the side of the city of Pehchevo had been hiding for centuries the seven waterfalls at the sources of the river Bregalnica, the biggest river in the east part of Macedonia. Only two of the waterfalls belong to this river, and the others are on its influents, the rivers Crni Dol, Zholtachka and Sipkovski Andak.
The waterfalls are located in the place called Valevichka River, and that is the name that the people that live in that area are calling the river Bregalnica, and it is at six to ten kilometers from Pehchevo. Although for a long time wasn’t propagated their activity, the waterfalls today are available for the people who love the nature and for the tourists. Next to the waterfalls are built walking paths that are cutting the rivers with small bridges, signposts, wooden cottages and benches for the visitors.
All of the waterfalls are abounding with a “Swiss” mountain beauty. Richest with water and biggest is one of the waterfalls on the river Bregalnica, and the highest (14 m) is the waterfall on the river Zoltachka.
