The waterfalls of Gjenevica
Tue, 08/10/2010 - 22:23
From the spring that is at an altitude of about 1400m above the sea level, to the flowing in the river Radika at about 650m above the sea level, the river Gjenevica is flowing along for 8km, through meadows, wood and rocks, making waterfalls and cascades. The impressive part is its canyon, which is not completely available because of the impassable field.
The craggy area of Ezerishte is a field with a group of small lakes in the northwest part of the mountain Bistra, at several kilometers north from Galichnik. Although they are located at relatively high altitude (at about 1900m above the sea level), these lakes according to the origin are not glacial but they are craggy, which make them unique and rare, because of the fact that the craggy areas are water permeable. But these lakes are constantly filling with water from the near springs, although few of them during the summer period are drying.
