The region of the municipality is located on the north-west of the lake. It extends in the direction east-west, from the foothill, over the hill ground, up to the top ridge of mount Jablanica. The beginning of the village dates from the 6th century, when the Slav tribe Bereziti (Brsjaci) overflows the Struga region and populates the area of the present-day village, south-east from the mountain. The name is derived from the Slav word ves which means village, and for the people who live there selchani, veschani (villagers).

It is an ease on the eye, relaxation for the soul, a place where one could escape the fast way of life and for a moment forget the daily routines. Also helpful is the ripple of the clear river Beleshnica, which simply calls you to cool in it from the heat. The high mountain Dautica, the high rocks, the green … it is all breath - taking. Even describing other beauties would not be enough to give a description of the village Belica, which is located in Porechie, in the municipality of Samokov, close to the town Makedonski Brod.
